Total elevation gain?

Total elevation gain?

Postby Pepedomingo on Mon Oct 05, 2009 11:47 am

I noticed that the course changed this year. It seems to me that we did not do Gut Check last year and the final climb was taken out.

Does anyone have an overall comparison between 2008 and 2009? It felt like I climbed more this year, but I can only go by the pain in my quads.

Thanks for the great event and see you all in 2010.

2009 was less vertical then last year. We took out the Raw Trail to avoid going over 26 miles and this dropped the vertical gain. Down and out added some rise and you still climbed onto Kane's Trail. Some have asked why Chilcoot has not been used. The reason is that it is on private land used by a hunting club. The event keeps hitting the first day of archery season and the land is rented out. My garmin gps onto National Topo Map makes the distance around 25.4 and vertical about 5040 feet. Any other gps readings from the day ?
